We go together like strawberry and olive oil.... if you haven't heard that saying, you might start using it after trying this milkshake. It will not only bring all the boys to the yard, but also the girls, pets, cousins, friends, uncles, neighbors, and long lost second cousins. It's that good... trust us. Make a grilled strawberry milkshake and watch your troubles disappear.
Ingredients:
1 pint strawberries, tops removed, halved
1.5 tbsp maple syrup
Sprinkle of sea salt
2 tbsp Chefs Life Finishing Oil
1 tbsp Lillet blanc
1 pint vanilla ice cream
ice cream cone pieces, for garnish
Method:
In a large bowl, combine the strawberries, maple syrup, sea salt, Finishing Oil and Lillet Blanc, stirring to coat the berries evenly. Coat a cast iron pan using a tsp of Chefs Life Cooking Oil. Heat the grill to 300. Once hot, place the strawberry mixture into the cast iron, and place on the grill for 30-40 minutes. Once cooked, the strawberries will start to break down and the liquid will thicken. Let cool completely.
In a blender, combine the pint of vanilla ice cream and cooled strawberries with their juices. Blend in pulses, to just combine. Pour into a pint glass and garnish with broken pieces of an ice cream cone.
